Spectrum Special Uganda Ltd is a registered organisation dedicated to supporting autistic, ADHD and other neurodivergent individuals through awareness, education, advocacy, practical resources, family support, inclusive opportunities and community inclusion.

OUR STORY
From one child’s journey to a national mission.
Spectrum Special Uganda was born from a mother’s journey with her autistic son, Zachary. In the United Kingdom, Zachary attended a mainstream school, but being present did not always mean being truly included. His family navigated communication difficulties, sensory differences, feeding challenges, grooming, emotional regulation, social interaction and daily routines.
When the family later came to Uganda, Zachary’s mother met many families facing similar challenges. Parents were searching for information, guidance, therapy services, schools and practical support, but often did not know where to turn.
She realised that families needed more than awareness. They needed support, resources, community and hope. That realisation led to the creation of Spectrum Special Uganda.
Today, Zachary’s journey continues to inspire everything we do.

No family should have to walk this journey alone.
Across Uganda, many families face limited awareness, stigma, delayed identification, restricted access to therapy, educational barriers, financial pressure, unsuitable environments and social isolation. These challenges affect whole families as they try to navigate systems with limited resources and support.

Through social media, workshops, awareness campaigns, practical resources and direct family support, Spectrum Special Uganda is helping challenge myths, strengthen parent advocacy and encourage more inclusive learning environments.
